Brittney Northcott
Brittney Northcott is a 23-year-old mezzo-soprano who recently completed her Bachelor of Music: Classical Performance - Voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she studied under the tutelage of Nicole Youl and Emma Matthews.
At WAAPA, Brittney performed in multiple productions, including To the Hands and REJOICE! at St Mary’s Cathedral, and Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. In 2022, Brittney played the role of Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in OpusWA’s semi-staged production, conducted by Mark Coughlan. She was also involved in OpusWA’s 2021 touring performance of Handel’s Messiah. In 2023, Brittney covered the solo of "Qui Sedes" in WAAPA’s performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria. She performed the role of the Old Woman in Jonathan Dove’s The Enchanted Pig at WAAPA
Most recently, she played the role of Cherubino in WAAPA’s 2024 production of Le Nozze di Figaro, conducted by Jessica Gethin and directed by Rachel McDonald, and was a soloist in WAAPA's “A Postcard from Paris”.
